Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

So Celaena did it, she won the king's contest and so became the king's champion, or royal assassin. The King of Adarlan is an evil man and wields his power to intimidate. Scaring his court and his people into compliance. Those who supposedly rebel against him will find Celaena's dagger to their throats. Well, that's what the king believes anyway.

Celaena is not as loyal to the crown as she pretends to be. A secret she hides from her closest allies. Trying to keep her secret becomes more deadly however when she comes across a true rebellion against the crown. Will she stomp it out before it becomes a threat? Or join with them to help destroy the dark king of Adarlan and the tyranny he beholds.

Are her relationships strong enough to handle the secrets she must keep, or will they crumble apart at her fingertips? She is not the only one keeping secrets it seems, and to keep the secrets of others safe she has to face threat after threat. Will magic keep her and her friends together and safe? Or tear them apart? You will have to read to find out!

This book was amazing! Full of adventure and secrets that come to light. This was one that I stayed up way too late to finish and loved every minute of it, except the next morning when I had to wake up early! I would give this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐ a rating. It keeps the reader's interest and makes you want to go onto the next book in the series!
